Shunt resistors
When using a combination of a shunt and an external voltmeter or oscilloscope, large currents can be measured or current waveforms can be made visible. This article shows how to calculate shunt resistors and what the influence of the construction is on the self inductance.
Current transformers
Current transformers are often used where large currents are being measured or when a small measuring impedance is important. A great benefit of the current transformer is the galvanic isolation between the measured current and the measuring circuit.
Scope probes
There are many types of oscilloscope probes. They are the very important coupling between the circuit under test and the oscilloscope itself.
