| 23 jan 2015 21:14:56 | Arduino: Analog measurements | Jaakko Fagerlund | Hello and thank you for a very detailed description and useful data :) Nice to see some actual tests and test setups and not just "this is how it is". Now, one thing I was thinking that this article didn't specify: can you do digitalReads() on other analog pins while the continuous analog reading is going on without issues? Or will these too be affected due to the MUX? |
| 22 jan 2015 22:36:35 | New wattmeter project | Freddy | It is hard to say when the project will be launched. We're still in the design phase. When we are at the prototype phase there will be a three month long test phase to test the reliability. If I had to make a guess: I should say no shorter than a half year. I forgot to answer your other question. The first series will be made available by a kickstarter campaign. If it is a success the Wattmeter can be purchase directly from us. |
| 22 jan 2015 22:00:15 | New wattmeter project | Ryan Carvalho | Hi Fred, The project is looking good. ... any tentative date of launch? I need 4 pieces for a project based on Arduino. |
| 22 jan 2015 21:44:58 | New wattmeter project | Freddy | An update. Just finished the current input test PCB. It is to test the most critical part of the wattmeter: the current input preamp and 24 bit ADC. High resolution photo The first thoughts are making the Wattmeter as a fully build unit. This is due to the safety issues, and secondly due to the SMD components that are being used. We're still thinking to make it available as a kit, but probably with an fully assembled PCB. |

| 12 jan 2015 21:08:02 | Arduino wattmeter | Just Din | Thanks for the update. Will wait for your kickstarter project status. |
| 12 jan 2015 13:28:28 | Arduino wattmeter | Freddy | At this moment I'm designing a Wattmeter with the properties you mention and a whole lot more. I'm not using an Arduino, but a custom made circuit. This to implement a safety galvanic insulation between the measurement inputs and other connectivities. See the announcement: New wattmeter project |
| 12 jan 2015 09:41:28 | Arduino wattmeter | Just Din | Do you have any plan to use Arduino Mega instead Arduino Nano? Probably we can display the data on LCD plus we can plot the same data into graph for energy/power profiling on computer/laptop. |
| 02 dec 2014 20:21:01 | Magnetic permeability | Freddy | The image for this English translation was wrongly modified. The Dutch version has the value for Ac: 125*10^-6 m^2. To saturate a core, the product of the current and the number of turns must become high enough. A log-log plot is used to view the curve over a wide range.
